Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 10, 2026
MacroCodex is a nutrition and adaptive TDEE tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and what choices you have.
What data the app stores
MacroCodex stores data you enter into the app on your device, including:
- Profile details such as age, sex, height, weight, and optional body fat percentage
- Goal and calorie target settings
- Weight, calorie, and body fat logs
- Weekly check-ins and reminder preferences
- A locally generated installation identifier used in diagnostics exports
How your data is used
Your data is used to:
- Calculate adaptive TDEE and calorie targets
- Show progress, trends, and coaching hints inside the app
- Schedule local reminder notifications if you enable them
- Create a diagnostics export if you choose to report a bug
What MacroCodex does not do
- It does not require an account
- It does not sell your personal data
- It does not include advertising SDKs in this codebase
- It does not upload your logs to a backend server as part of normal app use
Bug reports and diagnostics
If you choose to export diagnostics or report a bug, MacroCodex can generate a JSON file containing technical and app-state information, which may include profile data, goal settings, logged entries, weekly check-ins, adaptive TDEE analysis, and the installation identifier.
That diagnostics file is only shared when you explicitly choose to copy or send it using your device’s share sheet, email app, or other apps.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, MacroCodex may request notification permission so it can send local reminder notifications on your device.
External links and third-party services
The app may open external links you choose to visit, such as support contact links or educational pages. Those external services operate under their own privacy policies.
Data retention and deletion
Your in-app data remains stored locally on your device until you delete it, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app. Any diagnostics files you export are controlled by you and may remain in the apps or locations where you shared or saved them.
Children
MacroCodex is not intended for children under 13, and it is not designed to knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the new version will be posted at this page with an updated effective date.
